We can supply locks for all budgets, entry level that are very cost effective all the way up to full British Standard insurance approved and BS – 3 star rated. There are different ratings and criteria depending on the type of door you have.
If I lose the keys to my lock do I need to buy a new one?
Not necessarily. Take a mortice lock for instance, if the lock is in relatively good condition we can replace the levers inside the lock with a new lever pack and provide news keys. This is much cheaper than buying a new lock.
Another option is that we can make a key by hand to suit the existing levers inside the lock. As this process can take time it may not be cost effective to do this on modern easily replaceable locks. However it would be the perfect option for a very old or antique lock as you could not purchase a replacement.
If I have a faulty lock will you just try and sell me a new lock?
No, with an heavy emphasis on repair and maintenance will we always try our best to resolve the problem first before suggesting a new lock. However, sometimes if the existing lock is in terrible condition and beyond repair, a new lock or parts is unavoidable. The good news is, if a new lock is fitted it will automatically come with a manufacturer’s warranty.
A large amount of jobs we attend don’t need any parts at all. A prime example of this is uPVC doors. This type of door has a tendency to drop causing operational issues, in some cases so much that the door cannot be locked! Leaving the property unsecured. Once readjusted the door will be back to perfect working order with no replacement parts needed.
